Norwood, fondly known as the “Gem of the Highlands,” covers just over a three square mile area, and is surrounded by Hyde Park, Avondale, Bond Hill, Pleasant Ridge, and Oakley. The city is divided by Montgomery Road and the Norwood Lateral, with 71 weaving along the bottom. One of the most notable staples of Norwood is Rookwood Commons, a very popular area for shopping & dining. Norwood is also right next door to Xavier’s Campus.

SCHOOLS

Norwood has its own school district, which includes six public schools, from preschool to high school. According to Niche, their high school is ranked #16/42 for Public Schools in Hamilton County, and is in the top 20% of public schools in Ohio. The local public schools are as follows:

GOOD EATS

Aside from the traditional fast food chains, Norwood is home to a handful of delicious restaurants. In the Rookwood Commons area, the best choices are Buca di Beppo, J. Alexander’s, The Capital Grille, Seasons 52, The Pub, P.F. Chang’s and Taste of Belgium. A few other restaurants to check out in the Norwood area include:

For shopping, entertainment, and dining, the two epicenters in Norwood are Rookwood Commons, and Montgomery Road. As previously mentioned, Rookwood Commons has a plethora of restaurant options. In addition, it is home to stores such as: Nordstrom Rack, T.J. Maxx, Sur La Table, Ulta, and Cyclebar to work off all of the delicious food! For a little family fun, there is a bowling alley called Stone Lanes on Montgomery Road.
